Utilizing relative fictional history throughout the role play of VM, I have implemented this timeline to provide some perspective on just how long and intense this on-going communal story has changed and evolved.
A man by the name of Djehuty was seen walking the deserts of Egypt; at the time Ancient Kemet, after the black fertile soils of the Nile Delta. He never seemed craved of thirst and had never wanted for food. The nomadic people of the deserts found this to be odd, if a little alarming and began to follow him in his travels. Perhaps out of curiosity, or perhaps out of desire to learn how to do this for themselves. Djehuty was known for his extensive geographical knowledge and many people found this to be just as odd, if not God-like. What human being could travel such an expanse of territory, live, and not seem to age past their twenties? Most didn’t believe him at first, when he told his many tales. But when he had the knowledge to share with them and the vision to let them imagine; before you know it the many Kemetian people became his followers. One could even say he had been the first true messiah of mankind. But he did not portray himself in such a manner. Rather, only to share knowledge and to have it be shared among the others.
This began the dawn of civilization. Other than Ancient Egypt, there were several other hubs of new-born civilization too; such as Sumer, Atlantis, and Lemuria. These four locations became known as the “Pillars of Humanity” and for many hundreds of years Djehuty wandered the Earth and taught many humans the way of knowledge and wisdom. Thus, planting the seed of civilization and order.
Eventually, as time had passed and Djehuty had grown wary of his travels, a new being of power came into existence. He was not familiar with Djehuty, nor was Djehuty with him, but this would not be the case for very long. The new entity declared himself the God of Gods and demanded that all higher vibrational beings, non-human immortals, serve under his directive. Appalled by this Djehuty demanded an explanation and explained that humanity did not need someone to TELL them how to live their lives, rather they simply needed guidance and comprehension.
Not impressed by Djehuty’s time and efforts on Earth, the new being that went by the name “Tetragrammaton”, had labeled him enemy of “The Heavens” and as a lesson to those who would turn against him, sunk the large island-states of Lemuria and Atlantis into the oceans. Of course, the world had split into two factions. While some ancient one’s similar to Djehuty converted to the will of Tetragrammaton, other’s fell-in behind Djehuty in rebellion. Tetragrammaton soon after labelled all his enemies as “The Fallen” and those of his allies “The Risen”. Eventually known as “Angels” and “Fallen Angels” by humanity.
What followed was the dawn of Christianity and the war against the tyrannical “God” that favored himself above all the rest. Djehuty, a giving and nurturing being, also named a God but never assigning it to himself in those times, was eventually depicted by the name “Lucifer” by those who followed Tetragrammaton. This is the conclusion of the beginning, and the beginning of the Era of Awakening.
The Era of Awakening began after a lull in activity from the spiritual planes. Djehuty, who was now known by everything and everyone as Lucifer, had gone into a deep slumber under a sacred Egyptian tomb (Pyramid) after his last tenure as Pharaoh (God King). When he awoke he found the land vastly changed. The land was no longer ruled through spirituality, being taken over by a highly religious government that hailed Tetragrammaton but in a different name (Allah). Feeling disturbed by this strange altered Christian faith, which these people called Sunni-Islam, Lucifer decided to take on a new name and venture out into Europe. Now going by Latriel (using "iel" as an angelic connotation), he moved onward to a land widely spoken of and the rival to the Islamic south-east, France. France, the most "Catholic" power of the time and all ruled by fragile mortal men no different than Egypt at that point.
Reluctantly making his way to Europe, dreading to see the ridiculousness of religious indoctrination, Latriel eventually found his way to Paris where the seat of French governance could be found. Upon making himself known, he was met with resistance and denied access to the mortal Christian King. Irritated by this, Latriel simply entranced every mortal guard, regardless of his prowess, until he made his way directly in front of King Philip IV. Philip was in his late 30's at the time, and for a mortal during medieval times this was quite an achievement. This, to Latriel, meant that King Philip lived in otherwise luxury. He found, eventually, that Philip did not endeavor to involve himself in more diplomatic affairs finding them trivial and beneath his station as King of France. As such, the people generally found him rather uninvolved, but otherwise fair and calm.
Latriel was tired of Egypt and saddened by it becoming just as ridiculously lost as France. Alas, France was a new start and fresh soil in which to grow the crops of a new age. To make a long story short, Latriel overthrew Philip by turning him into a Vampire in his sleep, using the blood of a lesser Vampire so that when he stepped into the sun he would incinerate. The mortal people decided this was an act of God and that Philip had been hidden away often because he was a demon. God found him and spited him for all to see. Latriel naturally found this highly amusing, but knew it was his chance to take power as the "savior" of France. He had, at this point, since eliminated the entire royal family and had already taken over the castle where the King ruled. All he had to do now was convince the entirety of France to adhere to his reign. He found it easier to do-so by extinguishing those who would oppose him and converting those who would obey him. Once Latriel had a substantial army of Vampires, he soon held militaristic control over France and ruled as the new King. He was not seen as a savior, rather as more of a Devil King. The nature of Vampirism was not looked upon with acceptance; rather with disdain, suspicion and blasphemy on "God". On their evil sadistic and controlling Tetragrammaton. How foolish these mortals were.
